Reservation of Seats:
NERIST reservation of seats are put under three different categories; and a candidate seeking / claiming admission against a NERIST entrance seat under any of the categories shall have to produce relevant certificate(s) at the time of NERIST counseling / admission. The three different categories are as under:
(i) State–quota: For candidates who belong to any of the Eight North Eastern States;
(ii) All India-quota: For candidates who belong to any of the States of India; and
(iii) PD-quota: For candidates with 40 to 75% Physical locomotion Disability who belong to any of the States of India.
The distribution of NERIST engineering seats are such as, out of the total number of seats in each of the modules for direct admissions ..
1.) 80% of seats are reserved for candidates of the eight North Eastern States (10% each) as state-quota.
2.) Besides this, 7% of the seats are also filled up with PRC holders of these North Eastern States on merit basis.
3.) Only 10% of the seats are filled up with candidates under All India-quota;
4.) and 3% of the seats are reserved for physically (locomotion) disabled (PD) persons under PD-quota.
